Lizzie Fortunato
Lizzie Fortunato Jewels is a NYC-based accessories line that draws on the principle that high-end jewelry is not limited to diamonds, and features found, reclaimed, and precious materials in exceptionally fashion-forward silhouettes.
Designed by Elizabeth Fortunato and operated by her twin sister, Kathryn, the line has become famous for fusing high and low, and implementing unexpected materials sourced from around the globe (think coco bolo wood from Central America; vintage whalebone poker chips from a defunct Punta del Este casino and cast seashells from a remote Costa Rican beach).
The line fosters the luxury and craftsmanship of amazing hand embroidery, crewel, needlepoint, hand-beading, and couture-like hand sewing that goes into their creations.
Lizzie Fortunato Jewels has garnered the attention and praise of retailers, stylists, and editors alike; the line has been featured on the cover of Women’s Wear Daily, and on the pages of British Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and The New York Times. In September of 2010, the line was selected to participate in the Harper’s Bazaar & CFDA-sponsored “Accessories Bazaar” at New York City Fashion week, which showcased 18 eminent accessories designers at Lincoln Center. The season also marked the second collaboration between Lizzie Fortunato Jewels and ready-to-wear favorite SUNO and the fifth season of out-of-the-box runway creations for Victoria Bartlett’s VPL show.
